Tower of London

This was a truly amazing experience. We spent several hours here, marveling at ancient walls, compartments where kings and queens lived, tower rooms where prisoners were held in either luxury or degradation, depending on their status, the Jewel House where the crown jewels are still protected after many centuries, and exploring many other fascinating sights. The Tower of London is just dripping with history! It was hard to take it all in.

Traitor's Gate. Many famous prisoners passed through this gate, including Anne Boleyn.

Part of the massive wall surrounding the tower area.

One of the first and oldest structures built within the tower-the White Tower (completed in 1100).

We took loads of pictures, and I can't even begin to do them justice on this blog! However, I'm excited to give you a glimpse into some of our experiences.  The Tower of London was definitely a highlight of our trip. Someday, I'd love to go back!
