Days 7 & 8 in Paris

Day 7- Our day trip to Brussels, Belgium
How interesting it was to jaunt over to another country for the day! Belgium is famous for it's lace, chocolate, and waffles, all of which we enjoyed discovering in Brussels. The city reminded me of Haarlem-earthy, eclectic, and full of neo-Gothic architecture. We chanced across more English speaking people than in France!
We spent the day wandering through the famous central "Grand Place" square, and nearby neighborhoods using "walking tours" provided by my handy-dandy Rick Steve's guide.

Day 8- Our last day in Paris! "Opera de Paris Garnier" , built in the 16th century and which "Phantom of the Opera" is based on, was an impressive sight! We were able to take an English speaking tour.
We also did a little Parisian shopping, mainly at "La Grande Épicerie de Paris", an astonishing gourmet store filled with foods we had never seen before!
