Makes 1 2/3 cups
1 cup (6 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
In heavy saucepan, combine all ingredients. Stir over low heat until chocolate is completely melted. Serve warm.
When I first made this recipe, I used a whisk to blend the ingredients together as they melted. It seemed really runny, but once I removed it from the heat to cool, it began to thicken quite nicely. Make sure everything is measured exactly.
